New 5-star hotel in Mallorca from Iberostar
18 June, 2025Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has inaugurated the Iberostar Selection Es Trenc, a completely renovated 5-star hotel in Colonia de Sant Jordi, in southeast Mallorca. Acquired in 2022 by a branch of the Fluxá family, the 1962 building has been transformed to offer an experience focused on wellness and sustainability. The reform reduced capacity, electrified all operations and used sustainable materials.
With 145 rooms, including three themed suites with sea views, the hotel stands out for its Mediterranean-inspired design, its wellness area, main pool and a rooftop exclusively for Star Prestige guests. These guests also have access to personalised check-in, free bicycles and an à la carte breakfast.
In gastronomy, the Salivent restaurant is committed to seasonal Mediterranean cuisine with local products. The hotel operates with 100% renewable energy, six geothermal wells that reduce energy consumption by 50% and a smart system to reduce food waste.
The chain thus adds its first establishment in Ses Salines, making 16 on the island. The opening reinforces its presence in prominent locations and its commitment to responsible tourism linked to the local environment.
