18 June, 2025Spain once again stands out among Europe’s gastronomic elite as the country with the highest presence in the list of the 150 best restaurants in Europe compiled by the Opinionated About Dining (OAD) guide. With 45 establishments, it overtakes Italy (24), France (16), the UK (14) and Denmark (14), consolidating its leadership for the second consecutive year.
The top ten includes three Spanish restaurants: Bagá (Jaén), in fourth place, recognised for its minimalism and excellence in just 45 m2; DiverXO (Madrid), Dabiz Muñoz’s 3 Michelin stars, in sixth place; and Etxebarri (Axpe, Vizcaya), with 1 star, in seventh place.

The list also highlights Osa and Vandelvira as the establishments that have climbed the most in this edition. In total, 13 Spanish restaurants are among the top 50, reflecting a diverse culinary scene that combines creativity, technique, local produce and reinterpreted tradition.
According to OAD, these results reinforce the “extraordinary moment” of Spanish haute cuisine, which continues to gain international recognition for its strength and capacity for innovation.
