Every euro at Ifema generates €25 for Madrid's economy

The activity generated by Ifema Madrid reached €5.779 billion in 2024, 13.2% more than the previous year. This figure is equivalent to 3.2% of the city’s GDP and 2% of the Community of Madrid, consolidating its structural impact on the economic fabric of Madrid. According to PwC, the trade fair institution supports 47,691 jobs, a 21.2% increase, and for every euro of direct turnover, it generates €25 in the regional economy as a whole.

The study details that Ifema’s fiscal return amounts to €1.064 billion, equivalent to 3.9% of the regional budget. For every euro collected directly, €38 in taxes are generated. Sectors such as hotels and catering (€1.029 billion), manufacturing (€784 M) and transport and storage (€556 M) account for 43% of the indirect impact.

In 2024, 740 trade fairs, congresses and events were held, attracting more than 4 million visitors and over 34,400 exhibiting companies. Each national visitor spent €809 and each international exhibitor €73,568. Ifema recorded record revenues of 230.2 million (+30%), net profit of 18.6 million (+166%) and EBITDA of 48 million (+76%).
