16 July, 2025

A 16th century palace converted into a 5-star hotel will open this summer in the historic centre of Cáceres. The property will be operated by Panoram Hotel Management under the Curio Collection by Hilton brand.

After a14-million euro investment, the Hotel Palacio de Godoy will open on 30 July. The building, built in 1536 by the conqueror Francisco Godoy, is located next to the Plaza de Santiago and a few metres from the Plaza Mayor. The project has been developed by Scipion Real Estate and will generate 60 direct jobs.

The new hotel will have 73 rooms, including eight suites, and will offer services such as a restaurant, bar with local cuisine, spa, indoor pool, gym, event spaces and a rooftop bar. It pays tribute to the figure of Francisco Godoy and the role of Extremadura in the history of the conquest of America.

The addition of this hotel reinforces the luxury offer in a World Heritage city, adding value to both cultural tourism and the premium segment.
