16 July, 2025

Spain leads the way in urban walking tourism with 25 cities in the GuruWalk world ranking. Madrid and Barcelona are among the ten best places in the world for walking.

The “Top Best Walking Cities 2025” report, prepared by the GuruWalk platform based on over four million free tour bookings, confirms the attractiveness of Spanish cities for travellers who prefer to discover destinations step by step. Madrid ranks third overall, standing out as a cultural capital with a rich street life and pedestrianised historic centre. Barcelona, in fifth place, maintains its prestige for its pedestrian-friendly urban planning and its fusion of architecture, art and gastronomy.

This diversity reflects the wide range of experiences on offer for visitors seeking authenticity, history and a rhythm of their own.

Not only is Spain the country with the most cities included in the ranking, it also reinforces its position as a global benchmark in accessible cultural and urban tourism.
