Spain expects 42 million foreign tourists this summer
30 July, 2025Spain expects to receive around 42 million international tourists between June and September 2025, an increase of 3.2% compared to the previous summer. According to figures from Turespaña, these visitors will spend an estimated €58,000 million, 3.8% more than in 2024.
The Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, stressed that the growth of tourism in high season continues, although at a more moderate rate than in other months of the year. This development favours the deseasonalisation of destinations, a key objective for tourism supply, employment and visitor experience. Moreover, spending will grow more than the number of visitors, in line with the government's strategy of prioritising quality over quantity.

The tourism model is also moving towards geographical deconcentration. The six main autonomous communities - Andalusia, Madrid, Catalonia, Valencia, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands - will record growth of between 1% and 3%, compared to an increase of between 8% and 13% expected in traditionally less touristy destinations.
