All-time record number of passengers at Aena airports in July

Aena network airports saw their highest monthly passenger volume in July, with 32.7 million passengers, 2.7% more than in July 2024. There were also 268,034 individual flights (+3.1%), according to Aena data.

Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport led passenger traffic with 6.17 million (+0.6%), followed by Barcelona-El Prat (5.54 million, +2.9%) and Palma de Mallorca (4.59 million). The airports of Malaga (+7.8%), Alicante (+5.9%), Gran Canaria (+6.4%) and Valencia (+4.2%) also saw significant increases.

In total, 16 airports reached a record number of passengers in July, including Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Alicante, Ibiza, Seville and Bilbao. In terms of operations, Madrid was the busiest with 37,910 flights, followed by Barcelona (33,660) and Palma (31,449).

Between January and July, 183.3 million passengers used the Aena network, 4.1% more than in the same period in 2024, solidifying the recovery of air traffic in Spain and reinforcing its role as a leading tourist destination.
