Mallorca looks for ideas to become a sustainable tourist destination
30 March, 2022On 8 April Mallorca will host the first edition of the 'SDS Hackathon', an event that will bring together professionals, researchers and students with an interest and commitment to sustainability. The aim is for them to come up with solutions to various tourism problems on the island.
This activity has been organised by the Mallorca Tourism Foundation council, and the World Tourism Organisation (WTO). It is also part of the events of the Sustainable Tourism Summit, 'Leading the transformation, Mallorca Sustainable Summit 2022', an international forum to be held on 7 and 8 April at the Palma Conference Centre.
The 'Hackathon' will last one day and, throughout the day, different working groups will strive to create solutions to problems linked to the tourism and sustainability sectors. Therefore, participants will aim to create, develop and document solutions to challenges arising from water management, food and mobility.
It should be noted that the International Forum on Sustainable Tourism, 'Mallorca Sustainable Summit 2022', will take place over two days and will invite exhibitors dedicated to new services and technologies adapted to sustainable tourism to talk.
