The first Iberostar electric hotel will be in Mallorca
27 April, 2022The Iberostar hotel chain has announced it is working to open its first electric hotel in Spain this year, the Iberostar Cristina, located on the Bay of Palma, and which will be equipped with electricity-run hot water, heating and kitchens.
In this last case, the changes will be to remove stoves, ovens and hobs that run on gas, as well as the boilers which provide the different parts of the hotel with heating and water, including common areas and guests’ rooms.
The Iberostar Group has been putting into action its plan for greater energy efficiency and lower energy consumption across its different areas. In Spain, the largest benefit lies in renewable energy use, which will reach 100% this year, as now all the hotels use guaranteed renewable origin clean energy.
