5 Spanish tourist trains waiting to be discovered
25 May, 2022Renfe’s Luxury Tourist Trains are back to running completely normal services this year, in addition to some interesting new features. It’s well worth investigating the routes these trains cover which feature authentic jewels in terms of landscapes and cultural experiences for tourists with the most purchasing power.
- Al Andalus Train: The Andalusian trains itinerary starts and finishes in Seville and lasts 7 days (6 nights), running during May, June, September and October. After taking a guided tour of Seville, tourists embark on this classic route which takes in destinations including Jerez, Cádiz, Ronda, Granada, Baeza, Úbeda, Córdoba and Seville itself.
- Grand Trans-Cantabrian Luxury Train: During the 2022 season, the train runs in two directions featured on the itinerary between the cities of San Sebastián and Santiago de Compostela, with the Cantabrian mountains providing a constant backdrop on the journey. Trips last 8 days and 7 nights between April and November. Lunch and dinner is either served on board the train or in the finest restaurants of the cities along the route.
- La Robla Express: Renfe is running two routes for 2022 on the unique Express. The route takes in the old route between León and Bilbao, running in both directions and allowing the train to run alongside the Camino de Santiago Francés route and runs in the months of June, July, September and October. The trip lasts 3 days and 2 nights between León and Bilbao and includes accommodation, breakfast on board, meals in restaurants and guided tours.
- La Robla Express – Pilgrim’s Route: This route will run to mark the Jacobean Year and will allow visitors to carry out different parts of the English Way, or Camino Inglés, on foot between Ferrol and Santiago de Compostela. The train will start this pilgrim’s route in Oviedo on August 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st and returns to Oviedo after a 6-day long trip.
- Costa Verde Express: A new luxury tourist experience for the 2022 season. This trip offers itineraries consisting of 6 days and 5 nights covering the north of Spain, between Bilbao and Santiago de Compostela, crossing the four Communities that comprise ‘Green Spain’. Passengers enjoy meals on board or in selected restaurants, guided tours, admission to different monuments and shows. Trips will run between the months of April and September.
