Travellers now need only a negative PCR test result to enter Spain
8 June, 2022The Spanish government has relaxed health entry requirements to the country for travellers from countries outside of the European Community, who have been able to enter upon presenting a certificate of vaccination, certificate of recovery or a negative COVID test since May 21st. Children under 12 are also exempt.
Additionally, passengers arriving by sea, as well as those entering the country at airports who hold an EU Digital Covid Certificate or an equivalent certificate that has been authorised by the European Commission will not be obliged to fill out an SPTH Health Control Form.
Accepted certificates
- Certificate of vaccination that meets the requirements set out by the Spanish Ministry of Health (Ministerio de Sanidad).
- Certificate demonstrating proof of a negative SARS-CoV-2 result. NAAT (PCR or similar) tests, performed during the 72 hours prior to departure from country of origin to Spain will be accepted, alongside antigen tests performed during the 24 hours before departure.
- Certificate of recovery issued by a relevant health authority or medical provider at least 11 days after proof of COVID-19 demonstrated by a PCR or antigen test. Recovery certificates are valid for 180 days.
