Turespaña helps support air connectivity for Spanish destinations
15 June, 2022The Spanish Tourism Institute, Turespaña, together with Aena, participated in the 2022 edition of Routes Europe, held in May in Bergen (Norway). During the event, airlines, airports and destinations got together to examine the potential for the development of new air routes.
Across the 3-day event, both institutions held more than 50 meetings with European and American operators to provide airlines with the most complete information possible to aid their decisions.
Turespaña and Aena accompanied various Spanish destinations in several of the meetings to show the involvement of administrations, at all levels, in attracting new international air routes.
Airline operators are forecasting to reach 2019 activity levels across the board by the summer of 2022, with some destinations even performing better than three years ago.
