Air seats to the Canary Islands increase by 30% this winter

5 October, 2022

The airlines have put 9.4 million seats on sale for the Canary Islands this winter, which is 30% more than in 2019. An upturn which takes place within a context of high inflation but which reveals the important commitment that airlines make to the archipelago.

Overall, there are 2.2 million more places for sale from January to March, more than in 2019. “At the moment, the population seems to be accepting price increases, because they want to spend and above all they want to travel after two years of the pandemic and lockdown”, explained the Canary Islands’ Minister of Tourism, Yaiza Castilla.

With the available data, which goes from April to July, “we have recovered connectivity by far” pre-pandemic, with 10% more, as well as in the number of visitors, 1% more, assured the advisor.
