113 cruise ships will call at Malaga this autumn

2 November, 2022

The port of Malaga will receive a total of 113 cruise stopovers this autumn, one of the busiest seasons for this sector -which covers from 15 September to 30 November whereby a “total recovery” of the flow of passengers is expected.

Since the reactivation of cruise tourism in 2021, shipping companies such as Star Clippers, Mystic Cruises or Seadream “have reinforced their commitment” to the port and the destination, whose figures “are consolidated in relation to 2019”, according to a statement by Málagaport.

In January, the ships’ capacity was around 50% due to the measures adopted by the pandemic, but this summer they reached 75% of their capacity, so in the last period of this year the total recovery of the flow of passengers is expected.

Of the 113 stopovers planned this autumn, 12 ships will visit the port of Malaga for the first time.
