As indicated by data compiled by Turespaña.
More concretely, 8.47 million international tourists arrived in Spain in September, representing 67.4% more than in the same month of last year. This is a very positive evolution but still -12.2% below 2019 data, the last year before the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of 24.2% were British visitors, over two million passengers. Also here the evolution was positive but bittersweet as it represented -13.1% of figures recorded in 2019. Moreover, this situation had repercussions in all autonomous host communities especially in the Balearics.
