Award for Turespaña’s successful campaign “Tapas Day”
9 November, 2022Tapas, the popular element of Spanish gastronomy, have become an international protagonist: photos, recipes, live participation with tastings, workshops for adults and children and masterclasses but above all the promotion which has reached all countries in the world, partly thanks to gastro competitions.
This campaign carried out by Turespaña has earned Spain the prestigious GIST - Travel Food Award in the category ‘Best food and wine tourism marketing campaign 2022.’ The prize was awarded last 13 October in Rimini during the TTG Travel Experience fair.
“Turespaña wins not only because of the wide international scope of the project but also thanks to its ability to describe a lifestyle and consumption, tapas, in their many facets and potential”, explained the institute. In fact, World Tapas Day, an initiative of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce and the platform 'Saborea España', has involved Spanish embassies and restaurants around the world with events, show cooking, audiovisuals and online campaigns.
