Spain improves its tourist offer by restoring its heritage

14 December, 2022

Spain has suggested improving its rich National Heritage to offer it under the best possible conditions to citizens and international visitors. With this objective, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, to which Turespaña is attached, will invest 20.3 million euros in the renovation of historic buildings in the provinces of Madrid Segovia, Cáceres, as well as in the city of Palma.

Among the planned actions, due to their depth and high budget, the following stand out: the restoration of several museums, such as the Museum of Falúas Reales [Royal Boats] de Aranjuez, the Museum of Architecture and Painting, the Museum of Hunting, and the restoration of the La Cascada fountain in the gardens of the Royal Palace of La Granja de san Ildefonso.

As well as the heritage renovation projects recently undertaken, there is also the musealisation and adaptation of the Visitor Reception Centre of the Royal Palace of La Almudaina in Palma. Finally, two projects to improve visits to the Monastery of San Jerónimo de Yuste in Cáceres also stand out.
