7 million air seats to Spain, what a recovery!

In December, the schedule of international flights to Spain is close to pre-pandemic levels. With a total of 7,066,101 seats expected, the recovery compared to the same month of 2019 reaches 97.4%, according to data compiled by Turespaña.

“Despite inflation and the current economic context, companies are anticipating activity levels which are virtually identical to those of 2019. The percentage of recovery with respect to pre-pandemic values reaches the highest value of the entire current year for December, which shows that the recovery of tourist activity continues to consolidate month after month”, stated the Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Reyes Maroto.

Up to nine main markets for Spain show planned capacities in December which are higher than those of December 2019. In the case of the UK, it is close to 2019 volumes with a recovery percentage of 99.6%. Poland stands out, with an increase of 47% compared to 2019; Mexico (+23%), Ireland (+20%) and Portugal (+15.6%).
