“Buffet control” software for the most innovative Spanish hotel
28 December, 2022The Award for the most innovative hotel in Spain in 2022 went to the Novotel Madrid Centre (Madrid), which presented its software for monitoring and controlling the buffet, applicable to all types of hotels and allowing the amount of food to be reduced by 43 %, thus achieving production according to the real demand of each buffet.
In addition, with digitisation the savings on paper is significant, food is no longer wasted unnecessarily and also the quality has improved, since it is replaced “à la carte”, as reported by the organising entity of the contest, the Spanish Association of Directors of Hotel (AEDH).
In the process innovation category, the highest score went to the Vibra Hotels chain (Balearics), which presented its waste triage project generated in hotel rooms, in order to reduce the fraction of waste by improving waste management of the hotel plant. From an environmental point of view, a total of 6 tonnes of waste were sorted.
