ZEL: new lifestyle hotels created by Meliá and Rafa Nadal
4 January, 2023The Meliá Hotels International chain and tennis player Rafa Nadal, both of Mallorcan origin, have entered into a joint venture to create a new brand of lifestyle hotels under the name 'ZEL', which aspires to consistent international growth, capitalising on its powerful Mediterranean character as the main sign of identity.
In addition, it will be joined by strategic partners alongside its expansion in different areas such as gastronomy, decoration, well-being and technology. Zel will be “a brand of innovative hotels, full of energy with a new interpretation of well-being and a sustainability model” said Gabriel Escarrer.
Initially, the brand aims to grow in destinations on the Mediterranean coast and capitals such as Madrid, Paris and London. The first ZEL hotel is scheduled to open in Mallorca in 2023. The expansion plan anticipates the signing of more than 20 hotels in 5 years, focusing on destinations with a clear focus on premium leisure tourism and the leisure concept in Europe, America, the Middle East and Asia.
