Madrid offers tourists a menu of digital services
25 January, 2023Madrid is already a pioneer in visitor services and has taken the lead in digital tools. The Tourism Area is developing a plan to transform tourist services for visitors that involves their consolidation as 'tourist experience centres'. The new concept of information is “face-to-face, more digitised and sustainable, which allows both visitors and residents of Madrid to learn more about the infinite proposals for tourism, culture, gastronomy, shopping and leisure”.
This evolution is taking shape in projects such as 'Pichi'; the new virtual reality guides with 360-degree videos where an informant virtually assists the tourist, before their arrival in Madrid, in organising their trip; or visitor care via WhatsApp, phone or digital tablets from the municipal network of tourist information points.
In 2022, the tourist information services of the City Council renewed the Q certification for Tourist Quality, having obtained the highest score in compliance with the demanding international ISO 14785 regulation for the management of tourist offices.
