This is how Carnival is celebrated in a leisure park

15 February, 2023

One of the main innovations that the PortAventura World leisure park and resort has presented for this year is the celebration of the first edition of Carnival, which will take place over 15 non-consecutive days, inspired by the most famous celebrations in the world: Rio de Janeiro and Venice. During the weekends in February and March, an extensive programme of activities will be carried out, ranging from travelling shows and batucadas, to themed floats and costume parades

“Our priority continues to be leading the transformation of the leisure and entertainment industry, without losing sight of our commitment to become a more sustainable and responsible destination every day. Our commitment to personalisation, digitisation and deseasonalisation of the offer will help us bring unique and unforgettable experiences to new audiences and markets,” explained David García Blancas, general director of PortAventura World.

Other projects which the park has also launched are the first dark ride attraction in the world, 'Uncharted', or the largest self-consumption photovoltaic plant in a tourist destination in Spain and one of the largest in Europe: PortAventura Solar, whose inauguration is scheduled for the second quarter of the year.
