Gabriel Escarrer selected as personality of the year for Turespaña
17 May, 2023The vice president and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, Gabriel Escarrer, has received the “Personality of the Year” award at Spain's Sustainable Media Awards, awards organised by Turespaña through its Ministry of Tourism in London.
During the award ceremony, Escarrer's trajectory and his example of business leadership oriented towards transformation towards sustainable values were highlighted, which has led Meliá to revalidate its position as the Most Sustainable Hotel Company in the World on numerous occasions (S&P Global ESG 2023).
The special award for Personality of the Year was awarded by the British tourist information medium Wanderlust and presented by its CEO George Kipouros. Gabriel Escarrer said thank you for the award and said: “we are very proud to receive recognition related to sustainability, a clear priority for the tourism industry, and especially in the United Kingdom.”
