Ibiza recognised for the quality of its tourist services
28 June, 2023The initiative of the Consell Insular d'Eivissa in which Vodafone Spain collaborates, 'Ibiza Smart Island', has won one of the most important awards in the telecommunications sector by being recognised by the Spanish Association of Telecommunications and Information Society Users (AUTELSI).
On this occasion, recognition has been given to social and environmental commitment of a project that seeks to improve the safety and quality of the services offered to tourists in Ibiza, as well as to contribute to making the island a more sustainable tourist destination through the intelligent management of resources. This represents a qualitative leap not only for tourists, but also for residents.
Vodafone has developed a digital platform through a mobile app that provides real-time information on beach capacity, parking availability and bus timetables. It has also installed sensors in the water to prevent illegal dumping and ensure its quality, and has created an early fire detection system, among other initiatives.
