Air Europa and iryo to sell combined flight+train tickets
12 July, 2023Iryo and the airline Air Europa will combine train and air travel. Before the end of 2023, the new product will allow travellers to purchase combined train and plane tickets from the Globalia Group airline’s website or from authorised travel agencies.
In this way, it will be possible to purchase in a single ticket the connections offered by Iryo between Madrid and eleven Spanish cities (Barcelona, Tarragona, Zaragoza, Cuenca, Valencia, Albacete, Alicante, Malaga, Antequera, Cordoba and Seville), with the 33 destinations that Air Europa operates on the continent and the 21 transoceanic destinations in America. Users will be considered as connecting passengers.
With this agreement, iryo advances in its multimodal strategy, highlighting the value of the train as a sustainable feeder for medium and long-haul flights; in the same way that it allows Air Europa to extend its range of destinations, thus improving its customer experience. Both companies thus strengthen the connectivity of the Madrid Barajas hub.
