The best beaches of Andalusia this summer : National Geographic
2 August, 2023There are many different reasons to visit Andalusia. This Spanish region is full of heritage, culture and gastronomy, mountains and nature but at this time of year it is the beach and the coastal hotels that attract the visitor’s attention. Summer is a time to wear little clothing and enjoy sunbathing and the sea.
But there are many beaches in Andalusia, how do we choose? Luckily, National Geographic has made a selection:
- Cuesta Maneli, in Huelva. Also known as El Aspillero beach, in Almonte, it stands out for its wooden walkway ending in stairs which lead down to the sand.
- Los Genoveses, in Almería. In the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, it is a bay of particular beauty with fine golden sand dunes and the area’s typical prickly pear cacti and pitas.
- Matalascañas, in Huelva. A beach of fine, white sand just over five kilometres long, making it one of the largest on the Costa de la Luz.
