12 Spanish destinations getting ready to be smart cities
9 August, 2023A total of 64 municipalities from 17 European Union countries will participate in a smart cities project promoted by the European Commission (EC) and called 'Intelligent Cities Challenge', including 12 Spanish cities. The aim of this initiative, which will run from 2023 to 2025, is to “support and accelerate the dual green and digital transition of municipalities”, according to the EC.
“It is important to be part of this group of cities, 12 of them Spanish, to be better positioned to continue generating projects, initiatives and opportunities so that everyday we are more sustainable, more accessible and more inclusive, and to gain in social, economic and environmental welfare”, said the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez.
