5 Spanish beaches among the best in Europe
13 September, 2023Renowned magazine National Geographic has selected the 27 best in Europe, of which five are in Spain. Some of them, such as Ses Illetes in Formentera, or Las Catedrales in Galicia, have already appeared in other rankings this summer. We’ve featured them below, specifying their position in the list:

- 8.- Ses Illetes in Formentera. Located in the north of the island, this beach is protected within the Ses Salines Nature Reserve.
- 11.- Macarella and Macarelleta in Menorca. These two beaches are found in the south of the island, linked by a small path.
- 14.- Dunas de Corralejo in Fuerteventura. These dunes encompass the array of white sand beaches and crystal clear waters in the northwest of the island.
- 21.- Benijo Beach in Tenerife. This beach is located in the north of the island, of volcanic origin and surrounded by nature.
- 22.- Playa de Las Catedrales in Lugo. A natural wonder whose most noteworthy feature is its arches, domes and stone needles sculpted by the sea and wind.
