A 5-star wellness hotel in a Valencian monastery
20 September, 2023The Castilla Termal chain is once again counting on the combination of wellness, culture and heritage to continue growing with the opening of a new 5-star hotel in the Monastery of San Jerónimo de Cotalba, eight kilometres from Gandía (Valencia), which will thus become its first establishment in the Valencian Community.
Castilla Termal has reached an agreement with the owners of the Monastery for its use for the next 50 years and to begin the necessary steps to renovate the building. The Monastery needs a complete refurbishment that is in keeping with its heritage and historical values and for this to be carried out it needs a high level of economic activity.
This monastery is characterised by a great stylistic variety, as it starts from a primitive medieval gothic structure from the 14th century, but develops mainly between the 16th and 18th centuries. Its entrance courtyard, with its imposing Gothic tower, the orange tree courtyard, the Mudejar cloister and the old church, with its Baroque chapel, as well as the Romanesque gardens and the Gothic aqueduct.
