5 Spanish towns among the 14 most beautiful in Europe, says Jetcost
4 October, 2023Users of the flight and hotel search engine Jetcost have rated the 14 best coastal towns in Europe based on their beauty, the friendliness of their people, their gastronomic offer and, overall, their charm and personality, and five of them are in Spain: Cadaqués, Tarifa, Combarro, Sóller and Moraira:
- Cadaqués, in Catalonia. Known as the 'Pearl of the Costa Brava', where the genius Salvador Dalí lived for years, it was visited by other great painters of the time, such as Picasso, Matisse and Chagall.
- Tarifa, in Andalusia. It is the southernmost point of Spain, open to the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. The strong easterly wind makes Tarifa a paradise for lovers of water activities such as kitesurfing, windsurfing and surfing.
- Combarro, in Galicia. It is located in the magical scenery of the Rías Baixas, not far from the city of Pontevedra.
- Sóller, in the Balearic Islands. This Mallorcan coastal town occupies a valley in the Tramontana mountain range bordered by the sea. The twin localities of beach and town, plus the dazzling surrounding countryside, add variety to the experience of living in the port, albeit only for a few days.
- Moraira, in Valencia. In the heart of Alicante’s Costa Blanca, it is now one of Spain’s most charming coastal towns. Its unspoilt beaches are magnificent for relaxing.
