British airlines increase seats to Spain by 18%
15 November, 2023The airlines have scheduled 126.6 million seats and almost 731,000 commercial operations in the airports of the Aena network for the winter season, which started on 29 October and will last until 30 March 2024. This implies 15.1% more seats than those operated in the same season in 2022-2023. In particular, British airlines have offered 16.1 million (+18%) seats this winter.
The airports from which most seats are offered are Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, with over 31.4 million and Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 23.8 million. Both facilities exceed the 2022 winter season figures by 12% and 20%, respectively.
They are followed by Málaga-Costa del Sol, with 9.1 million seats (+26%); Gran Canaria, with 8.6 million (+12%); Tenerife South, with 7.5 million (+15%); Palma de Mallorca, with 7.2 million (+13%) and Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, with 6.3 million (+23%). The winter season has a total of 2,377 routes, i.e. 145 more than in winter 2022.
