Iberia Express increases its connections with the Canaries and Balearics
22 November, 2023The airline Iberia Express has increased its seat capacity for the winter season, 10% more than in 2022 and 12% more than in 2019. The Iberia subsidiary will offer a historic capacity of nearly 3.5 million seats (+40%) on routes to the Canary Islands. In the Balearic Islands, its biggest wager is Ibiza (+30%) compared to last winter.
This winter, the most important market for the airline is the Canary Islands, where it wants to consolidate its leadership on routes with Madrid, with 1.4 million seats (+12%) more than in the same season in 2019, increasing in all its destinations: Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and La Palma.
In the Balearic Islands, another strategic market for Iberia Express, this winter it has planned an offer of over 560,000 seats (+10%), concentrated in Mallorca and Ibiza. In Mallorca, it will consolidate the six daily flights in each direction and, in Ibiza, it will exceed 210,000 seats (+36%) and will add a frequency of up to 25 weekly flights, which means between three and four daily flights.
