Tenerife will once again host the Excellence Cruises Awards Ceremony
20 December, 2023The island of Tenerife will host the Excellence Cruise Awards for the second time. The gala will be held on 1 February at the island’s auditorium in the presence of leading cruise industry executives. The winners are chosen by passengers and travel agents through online voting, and award prizes ranging from the best ships and the best gastronomy, to the best itinerary, or even the best entertainment on board, up to a total of 17 categories.
According to data from the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, between January and September 2023, the five ports it manages received almost twice as many cruise passengers as in the same period the previous year. There are 662,260 passengers compared to 346,741 in 2022, 91% more.
In the current season, some of the most luxurious ships in the world will visit the Chicharrero port, such as the Silver Moon and the Seven Seas Splendor, but also the largest ships in the world, such as the Iona, the Arvia and the MSC Virtuosa among others. In the new ships section, the Queen Anne, the Sun Princess and the Mein Schiff 7 will be welcomed.
