Girona Pyrenees’ 5 ski resorts have opened with new features

27 December, 2023

The ski resorts in the Girona Pyrenees (Catalonia) have opened for the 2023/2024 winter season with a series of new features that will allow travellers to enjoy experiences in the snow, such as skiing at night at the Masella resort or going up to Vall de Núria on the iconic rack railway, which crosses 1,000 metres of vertical drop to reach one of the most magical corners of the Catalan Pyrenees.

With over 200 kilometres of slopes and first-class facilities, these resorts are starting the snow season with improved signposting and more safety on the slopes but also with numerous fun activities for children, not forgetting the cycle of mountain film screenings and new restaurant areas.

  1. La Molina. This season it has the first green (hybrid) snow machine in the Pyrenees and a new slope with a route of 4,750 metres and 859 metres of positive vertical drop.

  2. Masella. Improvements to the slopes in signposting and safety, new skiing and snowboarding equipment.

  3. Vall de Núria. There is a new welcome area with an information point on the natural park at the arrival of the rack railway.

  4. Valter. Promotional ski passes and a state-of-the-art slope machine are some of the new features of this mountain resort.

  5. Guils Fontanera. Its image has been modernised and you can now book your ski passes online.
