The ski season with the greatest investment for Sierra Nevada

3 January, 2024

The Sierra Nevada ski resort, in Granada, faces the 2023/2024 season with an investment of over 32 million euros, the largest in its history. In this way, the resort is opening four ski lifts, the snow production centre together with 32 state-of-the-art snowmaking machines and several themed slopes, among other new features.

This season, the Sierra Nevada ski resort, which is a member of the Atudem ski association, is also launching the Al Ándalus gondola lift, two ski lifts (El Puente I and II) and a starter map (Dauro II). This last installation has recently been added to the resort’s mechanical equipment map, after obtaining all the administrative permits.

Another new feature for the 2023/2024 season is the new snow production centre. Due to the complete replacement of the old water pumps and air compressors, it now requires four times less electrical power and its air consumption in relation to the water converted into snow is 25 times lower. The new 32 low- and high-pressure cannons complete the almost full renovation of the resort’s old snow guns.
