One of the world’s best attractions is a Spanish leisure park
17 January, 2024Uncharted: The Enigma of Penitence, the dark ride to be launched by PortAventura World (Catalonia) in June 2023, has been recognised as one of the best new attractions in the world. On this occasion, the IAAPA Expo in Orlando, promoted by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), has awarded it second place in the Brass Ring award in the ‘Major Ride/Attraction’ category.
Since June, the dark ride has received significant awards, including ‘Best New Roller Coaster in Europe’ at the European Stars Awards, organised by the German publication Kirmes & Parks; bronze in the category ‘Best New Attraction in a European Park 2023’ at the Worldofparks Awards, and ‘European Top New Attraction’ at the Parksmania Awards 2023.
What’s more, the attraction is a finalist in the Brass Ring Awards in the ‘Best Integrated Marketing Campaign’ category for the ride’s launch campaign, an award that will be presented in March 2024 at the next IAAPA meeting. Uncharted is an indoor roller coaster inspired by Sony Pictures Entertainment’s film of the same name.
