Ouigo’s high-speed trains will arrive in Seville and Málaga

14 February, 2024

2024 is the year of consolidation for Ouigo. In fact, the railway company, which has been operating in Spain since 2020, expects to end this year with “between seven and nine more destinations” than the seven it currently operates. Forecasts suggest that, in this way, the brand will double the number of routes and add a total of between 14 and 16 destinations by the end of the year.

This was stated by Federico Pareja, Ouigo’s Marketing Director, who is optimistic about the prospects for this year, when the company plans to start operating several routes in Andalusia. In the south, he highlights his objective to start offering the route to Malaga, Seville and Cordoba in the second half of the year, “after the summer”, he remarked.

As regards the southern corridor, Pareja pointed out the difficulties Ouigo has faced in trying to adapt to the technical and safety requirements, “we have had to reform our trains for a more modern safety system”, and to do this the company has had to make multiple adjustments to its trains.
