Meliá recognised as the most sustainable hotelier in Europe
28 February, 2024Meliá Hotels International has once again reached a significant milestone in the field of sustainability, being recognised as one of the best performing hotel companies worldwide according to the latest Sustainability Yearbook produced by S&P Global. The leading financial ratings and market analysis agency places Meliá in third place internationally, the first European company in the ranking.
In this Yearbook (S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2024), companies are selected based on their performance in the sustainability assessment (CSA Score) conducted by S&P Global in 2023. This year, 61 companies from all over the world from the Hotels, Resorts and Cruises sector have been assessed, only 7 of which have been included in the yearbook.
To be included, companies must score in the top 15% of their sector in the assessment. In other words, only those companies that demonstrate exceptional performance, compared to others in their sector, can be part of this recognised group of leaders in sustainable practices.
