Spanish cities which all foodies must visit

6 March, 2024

The gastronomic consultancy Talentchef has revealed a list of Spanish cities which, thanks to their strong culinary tradition, are ideal for all foodies to visit. And the list starts with Oviedo (Asturias), which this year is Spanish Capital of Gastronomy. The region is famous for dishes such as its fabada [bean stew], cachopo and cider.

And then we have Barcelona, one of Spain’s most cosmopolitan cities and, of course, also a major gastronomic destination, offering everything from traditional Catalan dishes to international cuisine. And Madrid, a major centre of Spanish gastronomy, with traditional Spanish dishes such as paella, Spanish omelette, Iberian ham, callos a la madrileña [tripe] or cocido madrileño [stew].

Talentchef’s proposals are rounded off with three other cities: San Sebastian (Basque Country), known as having one of the best gastronomies in the world, Malaga, which has led the resurgence of the Costa del Sol in recent years and Seville, which offers an authentic gastronomic experience with dishes such as salmorejo, spinach with chickpeas and fried fish.
