Meliá and Summum to jointly open a new 5* in Málaga
8 May, 2024Meliá Hotels International and Summum Hotel Group have signed a new agreement to manage the first five-star hotel in the Ronda, Malaga. Both companies wish to continue expanding their growth alliance, which was announced in December 2023, then with the addition of two Summum hotels in Mallorca to The Meliá Collection portfolio.
As a result of this new operation, Summum Hotel Group will manage the new establishment, the former Convento Madre de Dios owned by MGI, an extraordinary building built in the mid-16th century in the heart of Ronda, which will be transformed into a boutique hotel, with 27 rooms, under the luxury brand The Meliá Collection.
The building is located on Calle Santa Cecilia, within the Historic Centre of Ronda, enjoying a privileged setting, just 2 minutes from the Old Bridge of Ronda and the Arch of Felipe V (the old gateway to the city). The refurbishment of the convent, which brings together numerous Mudejar, Gothic-Isabelline and Renaissance elements, will respect and incorporate all its essence into the hotel experience.
