Renfe launches the Tren de la Cerámica between Madrid and Toledo

Renfe, in collaboration with Turismo de Castilla-La Mancha, has launched the Alcarria Train this May, departing from Madrid-Chamartín Clara Campoamor station, stopping at Atocha Cercanías and arriving in Guadalajara. This thematic tourism train is a special opportunity to get to know the history and culture of the capital of the iconic region of La Alcarria.

The visits include the 15th century Elizabethan Gothic style Palace of El Infantado, where Philip II was betrothed to Isabella of Valois, the Convent of La Piedad, the Palace of La Cotilla, the Chapel of Luis de Lucena and the Ducal crypt of the Mendozas. Both the trip and the guided tours are included in the ticket price.

The experience covers a total of 12 routes along which the tourist trains that both entities will run throughout this year and which will travel to significant places in all the provinces of the autonomous community. Renfe is launching its thematic tourism trains with the aim of encouraging mobility and sustainable tourism as well as promoting culture.
