Sailfish Lanzarote Open Water unites swimmers from 14 countries
22 May, 2024Last Saturday 11th May, almost 600 participants gathered at the renewed Sailfish Lanzarote Open Water competition, which had already been raising expectations with its staging for several days. The enviable water temperature of 19ºC was the best scenario for swimmers Eduard Mannanov and Kennedy Hope who were the best, completing the 5km with a time of 00:59:01 and 01:03:13, respectively.
All attention was focused on a prize-giving ceremony that took place against the backdrop of the different circuits. The move of this year’s edition to Playa Grande, on the same sand where the swimmers compete, was very well received by participants, fans and spectators who didn’t want to miss a single detail.
The Sailfish Lanzarote Open Water once again puts the island on the international map as a top sports tourism destination. With high quality competitive events in a privileged environment. So this competition contributes to reinforcing Lanzarote’s position as a favourite destination for sports and travel lovers.
