A 2* hotel on the Costa Brava reopens in July as a 5*
26 June, 2024The Bondia Hotels chain will open the doors of the Elisabeth By The Sea in Tossa de Mar (Costa Brava) on 15 July, a beachfront hotel, which is the result of a purchase and re-categorisation. After 2.5 years of construction work, the former 2-star Hotel Rovira will become the company's and the destination's first 5-star hotel.
The Elisabeth by The Sea hotel will have 150 rooms (75% with views of the sea and Tossa Castle), spa, rooftop pool and two Mediterranean restaurants with a strong focus on local cuisine: Pandora and Pique Nique Rooftop Bar. The new 5-star hotel is located in a 1930s building that was bought by the chain "after several years of searching for differential assets on the seafront".
"The asset, apart from being a very good size, was unique, as it had unique views of the castle, the town and above all the sea", they explained, adding that the choice of Tossa de Mar to open its first 5-star hotel was no coincidence, as "it is considered, along with Cadaqués and Calella, the most iconic seaside towns on the Costa Brava".
