Which is the municipality in Mallorca with the most Q quality flags?
3 July, 2024The municipality of Calviá has the highest concentration of Q Flags in Mallorca, and in fact in the Balearic Islands, with a total of 15 flags achieved in 2024. To achieve this, it has been necessary to pass an independent audit that certifies compliance with the highest standards of quality, sustainability and safety.
Specifically, the 15 Q flag beaches are: Buganvillia, Illetes Balneario, Cala Contesa, Cala Portals Nous, Oratorio, Es Cargador, Palmanova, Son Maties, Santa Ponça, Magaluf, Cala Vinyes, Cala de ses Peñas Rojas (El Toro), La Romana, Torà (Peguera) and Palmira.
The awards granted by the Spanish Institute for Tourism Quality (ICTE), which is part of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, are based on the internationally recognised ISO quality standard. As in 2023, Calvià again has 15 Q flags, third in Spain after Marbella (19) and Sansenxo (16).
