A new luxury hotel in an Andalusian nature park

24 July, 2024

The Junta of Andalusia has completed the environmental processing of actions within the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park (Almería, Andalusia), including the granting of Unified Environmental Authorisation (AUU) for the refurbishment and remodelling of an existing farmhouse in Playazo de Rodalquilar to adapt it as a rural hotel with eight bedrooms.

According to the Andalusian Government, all the requirements of the park's regulations in this respect have been met, so that the plot on which the building is located is in a common regulation area for agricultural crops (C1), where, according to the park's Natural Resources Management Plan, the refurbishment of existing buildings is permitted.

The environmental authorisation includes an extensive set of conditions, in addition to the preventive and corrective measures contained in the Environmental Impact Study, which covers all aspects of the project, from the perimeter fencing to the harmony that the external aesthetic features of the facilities must maintain with the traditional constructive typology of the area.
