Spain is once again the most sought-after country for holidays
14 August, 2024This August, Europeans are more eager than ever to travel and enjoy a well-deserved holiday, especially visiting Spain and, according to the flight and hotel search engine Jetcost, flight searches in August are already 12% higher than in the same month of 2023 and hotel searches are up 14%.
And a large number of Europeans who have decided to travel during the August holidays are going to Spain. The climate, with the sun and the beach as the main protagonists, the cultural wealth, customs and popular festivals, as well as the gastronomy, hotels and infrastructures and cheaper prices than other countries have made it the most sought-after country.
Among the different destinations, Andalusia and the Valencian Community stand out above all. Malaga, together with Seville and Almeria, are the most sought-after destinations in the region. In turn, Alicante is the most sought-after city by British travellers. Valencia is the second favourite city in the Valencian Community.
