Haute cuisine meeting in Valencia with 250 international chefs

14 August, 2024

More than 250 chefs, journalists and gastronomy experts will gather in Valencia on 12 November for the annual gala of the We’re Smart Green Guide, a guide that rewards restaurants and chefs that stand out for their approach to healthy and sustainable cuisine. In parallel to the gala, three days of workshops, culinary demonstrations and other activities will be held in restaurants around the city focusing on traditional cuisine.

The mayoress of Valencia, María José Catalá, has framed the celebration of this event, which will be organised by the Visit València Foundation together with the Generalitat and the Diputación de Valencia, in the strategy of a new tourism model for the city aimed at attracting “responsible and committed” tourism and to continue positioning the city as “the larder of the Mediterranean diet and to value our products and the commitment of our gastronomy to sustainability”.

For the mayoress, “Valencia is a guarantee of healthy food and local products”, which is why it must continue to position itself on the world gastronomic map by reaffirming its commitment to a greener and more sustainable future, in reference to the city’s European Green Capital status.
