5 Spanish hotels among the 20 most charming in Europe

The charm of small hotels lies in their ability to offer a unique and intimate experience that is difficult to find in larger establishments. This year, the Forbes list has chosen the 20 most charming small hotels in the world, not only for their luxury and comfort, but also for their "warm atmosphere that makes you feel at home". Five of those chosen are in Spain.

5 of Spain's most charming hotels

  1. A quinta da Auga (Santiago de Compostela). Located in Santiago de Compostela, this hotel occupies the building of a former paper factory from the 18th century. A Quinta da Auga has 51 rooms decorated with works of art and antiques.

  2. Casa Palacio Don Ramón (Seville). Located in a former manor house in the heart of the Andalusian capital, this hotel has 26 themed rooms (Arabian, Mozarab and New World). The hotel's rooms combine rustic style and contemporary décor.

  3. Grand Hotel Son Net (Majorca). Located in the Serra de Tramuntana, this hotel has 31 rooms, seven of which are suites, three swimming pools, two restaurants, numerous bars, a spa and extensive gardens.

  4. Palacio de Arriluce (Getxo, Bilbao). This mansion house now forms part of the Leading Hotels of the World collection, with 49 rooms and suites decorated with various works of art.

  5. Son Vell (Menorca). Set on a 180-hectare estate including a swimming pool and an original 18th-century manor house as well as a series of traditional farm buildings which have been restored to house 33 rooms and suites.
