GNV to add a new ferry on the Valencia-Palma line
18 September, 2024The GNV Polaris ferry, the first of a series of four units that the Italian shipping company GNV is building at the Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) in China, has completed its sea trials prior to its official delivery. According to the company, the new vessel will be launched on the Valencia-Palma line between November and December of this year.
The GNV Polaris is 218 m long and has a capacity for 1,500 passengers in 303 cabins and a garage for 3,100 linear metres of wheeled cargo on three decks. The second vessel in the series, called GNV Orion, will have 420 cabins and capacity for 1,785 passengers, as well as 2,780 linear metres of wheeled cargo.
The third vessel, GNV Virgo, will be a repetition of the previous one, according to the shipping company. The first two vessels will be equipped with Scrubbers, while the next two will be dual vessels using LNG fuel.
