Spain is the most desirable luxury destination in 2024
25 September, 2024Spain has climbed onto the European podium of destinations for shopping tourism and this year has also earned recognition as the most desired destination for luxury tourists, who spend an average of 8,000 euros per trip, but also prioritise the price of accommodation and travel in their choices, according to Condé Nast Johansens’ “Luxury Holiday Habits” report.
Spain has been placed ahead of countries such as France, Italy, Greece and the USA. The data reveals that almost a third of luxury travellers who choose Spain plan to make between three and four trips a year. 44% per cent of them will do so in September, while 29% choose June and 27%opt for May.
These tourists stay between three and six nights at the destinations (45%), although 32% extend their stays between seven and nine nights, and 27% prefer weekend getaways. When booking, 68% prefer to do so on the hotel’s website, while 56% choose online agencies and 13% do so in actual agencies.
